Shocking Statistics Don't Look Good for Columbia
The city of Columbia would not be happy to see some statistics that I came across. You'd like to think that you live in a relatively safe city while going to college but these statistics don't fare well. Although the Statisctics are from 2009 they show very bad trends. The city violent crime rate in Cola was higher than the violent crime rate in SC by 55.98%. That is a pretty shocking stat but that's not it. Also, the city property crime rate was higher by 54.84%.
Compared to a National level it doesn't look acceptable for Columbia's rates to be so high. This surely calls for some kind of change in Cola's way of stopping and fighting crime. Since these statistics were from 2009, hopefully they have found ways to crack down and do away with these embarrassing stats.
