Recently, there have been many violent altercations in Five Points occurring late at night. The most recent which included a group of young men resulted in a curfew for minors in the area. Random gun shots have been heard many times.
But what if the altercation is between grown men? Most recently, there was a fight in a bar parking lot between two grown men. The victim, who is currently critically injured, is 41 and the suspect is 27 years old. He was taken to jail on assault and battery charges.
The problem is that Five Points is a prime location for bad things to happen, especially violence. People drink too much and then fight. The current surveillance system does not work as a precautionary measure but as a way to gain information post-incident. Even with cops on every block, it still does not serve as a deterrent for people to fight.
Five Points is turning into a violent, sketchy, crime-ridden area. If things don't improve, it will quickly get worse and become an even more undesirable place to be. We don't want people to be scared in a part of town, especially one that is so close to our campus.

single parents and crimes
I read an article called "Single Parents Families a mojor reason for provety and crimes". ANd this particular summary talks about how women end up being single parents. And they feel like it is becasue of sex outside of the marriage. This is important becasue if you want to raise a child in our society you could possible do it with one child. But if you have a mom and father in the household there are a better chance the child will be better in life. If the child has his mom and father in the household togehter, it showa the child this is the right way a household should be. And in our society i think this is important for the child so when they grow up and have kids they are less likely to be single parents. I also feel that if the child has a mother and and father in their household the child is less likely to get in trouble, compared to a child with only one parent in the household. The child will always have someone watching them and telling them right from wrong. Compared to the child with only one parent the child would less likely have someone watching over them. And by that they will have a higher chance of getting into the wrong things.
